Understand overtime in timesheets

If your store uses Easyteam Payroll, then Easyteam can show overtime hours and overtime pay directly in time tracking views and exports.

The overtime amounts shown in Timesheets are estimates. The final overtime amount is calculated during the payroll run and can change based on each employee's jurisdiction, tax information, overtime eligibility, and employment type.

When overtime appears

Overtime appears only for stores that activate Easyteam Payroll.

Overtime in timesheets

Common prerequisites include:

  • Easyteam Payroll is enabled for the store
  • the payroll provider supports overtime preview data
  • the worker is already onboarded in Easyteam Payroll

If Easyteam Payroll isn't enabled for the store, then overtime columns and overtime summary sections don't appear.

Where overtime shows up

Overtime data appears in three places:

  • All staff overview — an Overtime column shows the estimated overtime amount and hours for each staff member (for example, $50 (02:00)). The Total row follows the same format.
  • Individual staff timesheet — a separate overtime summary row appears above the Total row, showing overtime hours and pay separately from regular worked time.
  • Exports — multi-staff exports include Overtime hours and Overtime amount columns. Single-staff exports include a separate overtime summary section after the time card rows. For more information, refer to Export time tracking and time card data.

Overtime is always shown as a summary for the selected date range. It is not broken out on each individual time card row. Changing the date range updates the overtime values.

Troubleshoot overtime visibility

Overtime isn't showing

Check whether:

  • Easyteam Payroll is enabled for the store
  • the worker is onboarded in Easyteam Payroll
  • the selected date range includes overtime

Overtime doesn't appear inside each time card row

This is expected. Overtime is shown as a date-range summary, not as a per-record calculation on each row.
