Setting Up Notifications: Email, SMS & Push Alerts

Easyteam helps you and your team stay up to date with shift changes, time-off requests, and compliance tasks—without checking the app.
Notifications can be sent by email, mobile push, and also appear in your notifications log. We also support SMS notifications for US and Canadian merchants



How Do Notifications Work?

Notifications in Easyteam are permission-based and context-aware. Admins receive alerts for all locations, Managers only for their assigned shops, and Staff for their own activity.


You can control what notifications you receive and how you receive them—from the Notifications Settings page.


➡️ Open the Settings page and navigate to Notifications Settings



➡️ From there, enable or disable specific alerts by type and channel.


Each user manages their own preferences and can subscribe to specific notifications that fit their needs.


Note, all notification categories are off by default, go in and enable the ones you want to recieve.


Admins can activate SMS all users in their organization.


What Notification Channels Are Supported?


There are four channels that can be used to receive notifications. Each user can opt into one or more of them.


Email – No setup required. Notifications are sent to the email address associated with your Easyteam or Shopify user


Push Notifications – Requires [installing the Easyteam mobile app ](/en/article/how-do-my-staff-members-access-easyteam-using-the-mobile-app-1cemjgu/ and allowing notifications from the settings page.)


SMS – Coming soon: Activate SMS notifications U.S. and Canada. Must be activated by the store admin.


Notifications Inbox – An inbox accessible through the 🔔 icon in the top bar, with a full history of messages.


Step-by-Step: Enabling Push Notifications


To receive push notifications, install the Easyteam mobile app and allow notification access.


➡️ Navigate to the Settings page and select Notifications, scan the QR code using your mobile device.


➡️ Follow the link to download and open the Easyteam app.


➡️ Once logged in, navigate to the same Notification Settings page, tap the Enable Push Notifications button in your mobile settings screen and allow the required permissions on your mobile device.


➡️ You'll now be able to toggle push alerts from your main notification settings page.



Step-by-Step: Enabling SMS Notifications


SMS is available for businesses in the U.S. and Canada only. It must first be activated by an Admin.


➡️ If you’re an Admin, look for the Activate SMS Notifications banner in your Notifications Settings screen.


➡️ Once activated, all users will see an Add Phone Number prompt.


➡️ After adding your phone number, you’ll be able to turn SMS alerts on for specific events.


💡 Some features, such as shift approvals or compliance alerts, are time-sensitive and work best with push and SMS notifications.


How to Change Your Notification Preferences


All users can customize which alerts they want to receive—and on which channels.


➡️ Go to your Notifications Settings screen.


➡️ Each row represents a type of alert. Each column is a delivery channel: Email, Push, SMS.


➡️ Toggle notifications on or off depending on your preferences.


➡️ Click Save.
