How to create break policies?


Setting up a well-managed break system isn't just good for business – it's good for the whole team.
See how EasyTeam makes it easy to get started with breaks:


Creating Break Types


➡️ As an admin, go to the Settings page in EasyTeam.


➡️ Choose Time tracking & breaks from the menu.




➡️ In the Break Types section, click Add new break to create a new break type



➡️ Choose your break configuration:


  • Break name: Choose a descriptive name like 'Lunch break' or 'Bio Break'.
  • Type: Choose Paid or Unpaid. These will reflect differently on the staff member's timesheets.
  • Duration: Choose a type in minutes for the break. You can later choose to limit the break time to this exact duration or let the staff members end a break early.
  • For every: Specify how frequently this break can be taken by each staff member.
  • Assign to locations: Select which specific locations offer this break type, or choose 'All locations' to apply it everywhere.
  • Mandatory: Show a warning for staff members who do not take this break during their shift. This is useful for compliance purposes.
  • Set as default: Mark this checkbox to have this break available on all future shifts. Otherwise, you'll have to allow it on specific shifts in the Schedules screen.


➡️ Click Save


Your staff members will now see this break option on their Shopify POS time clock during active shifts.
