December 2024 Product Update: Simplify Your Setup

We’ve introduced key updates this December to make transitioning to payroll and managing your team more seamless than ever.

Streamlined Payroll Onboarding

For merchants onboarding during December, payroll runs will begin no earlier than January 1st. This eliminates the need for year-end data migrations, ensuring a smooth and clean start for 2025.

Payroll Reminders Across Shopify Admin

Stay on top of your payroll with clear reminders integrated throughout Shopify Admin:

- Before Deadlines: Informational banners show how many days remain until the payroll period ends.
- After Deadlines: Warnings notify you if a payroll deadline has passed.

These reminders make it easier than ever to stay organized and meet your payroll obligations.

Bulk Add/Edit Staff

Managing your team has never been easier. The improved bulk add/edit feature allows you to make multiple updates on a single screen:

Bulk add/edit staff is now available on the Staff page

- General Staff Management: Update POS PINs, permissions, and other staff details efficiently.
- For Payroll: Quickly onboard employees or make payroll-related changes.

Whether you’re setting up payroll or managing team details, these changes make bulk updates faster and more intuitive.

Bug Fixes

(Not that we had any bugs. But now we definitely have fewer.)

- POS Manager View: Resolved a bug preventing shifts from being added smoothly.
- Bulk Add/Edit Staff: Fixed issues with handling special characters in names and emails, ensuring all staff can be updated without errors.

Coming Next

- Timezones Adapted to Locations: Timezones will soon align with the location’s timezone. For example, if you’re viewing schedules or timesheets for a San Francisco location while in New York, everything will appear in the respective local timezone, eliminating manual calculations.

- POS Checklists Tile Using Shopify’s UI Extension: The Checklist tile will load faster than ever - under a second - by leveraging Shopify's UI Extension technology.

- Sales Attribution Tile (for POS Lite Users): Built with the same UI Extension approach, this tile will deliver swift performance.

- Timesheets Lock After Payroll: This setting will block users from modifying timesheets that have already been paid, ensuring data integrity.

- Customizable Staff Table Columns: Choose the details you want to see in a single view, tailored to your preferences.

- Sales Goals (Coming Soon): Elevate your team's productivity with multi-location goal management. Using real-time sales and scheduling data, this feature ensures you’re always on track to hit your targets.

Stay tuned for more updates, designed to further simplify and enhance your experience!
